Biography
Nicolai Bähr is a creative brand developer, photographer, and filmmaker based in Munich, Germany. With a background in design and a passion for storytelling across disciplines, his work connects aesthetics, movement, and culture.
After studying Media Design with a focus on photography, film, graphic, and web design, Nicolai began his career in content marketing and later moved into digital product development. Over the past years, he has co-founded a software startup and contributed to the conception of innovative tools and sustainable infrastructure projects in the real estate and energy sectors.
Alongside his professional path, Nicolai has continuously pursued independent creative work. He co-initiated cultural and music-focused platforms, developed small product lines, and directed his own photography and film projects, often rooted in urban lifestyle, cycling, and electronic music. His visual language combines documentary and editorial elements, frequently captured on analog film.
A former BMX rider and vice German champion, Nicolai returned to competitive cycling in recent years. He currently rides with the elite amateur team Schranz 04 Racing, supported by Oakley, Hunt, Maurten, and others. This personal journey in sport also inspires his creative direction, as he explores the intersection of athleticism, design, and identity in contemporary content production.
Music & Community
The alias Javier Bähr marks Nicolai’s creative presence as a DJ and music producer. Deeply rooted in the electronic music scenes of Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin, he co-founded the ambient label and radio show Rohstoff and techno imprint Inpureform.
He is part of the Oyster Hour Collective and regularly curates and performs at events, contributing to the underground culture with a distinct sonic identity.
