Nicolai Bähr also known under the artist name Javier Bähr, is a photographer, dj and producer from Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Nicolai (born 1994) came to electronic music for the first time as a teenager in Darmstadt, his hometown. At first, he was drawn to the Darmstadt scene and explored the techno-terrain in Frankfurt. Starting from 2014 he commuted monthly to Berlin, in order to receive inspiration for his own way. 

In the fall of 2014, Nicolai enrolled in the Digital Film Design program in Berlin, but changed his mind at short notice and moved to Munich to study Media Design. 

During his studies, Nicolai became more and more involved with photography and found a passion for analog film. He wrote and photographed his B. A. thesis about the architectural style Brutalism. His work is understood as artistic documentary architectural photography of an architectural style that is threatened with extinction due to modernization.

From 2017 to 2021 Javier run Rohstoff together with his good mate Lukas Bodenstorfer aka Svar. Rohstoff is label, monthly radio show on Radio80000, and event series for ambient and experimental music.

In 2020 he moved to Frankfurt am Main and founded a new techno label called Inpureform.
